Our story

Carolynne Hassall…
Starting the day our baby was born, I wrote ‘things’ down. Feeding times; nappy/diaper changes; gifts, cards, flowers, and visitors received; contacts made with other services and mothers; things people lent to us which may one day have to be returned. I kept it all; out of my head and on paper. Not rocket science (I know). Just an in-bred practice I retained from working on multiple projects at one time. I simply behaved like I would in any work situation by efficiently keeping categorized lists and recording essential details. 

My notes gave my husband and me support; telling us what baby may need next and possibly when. The information I was keeping gave us facts to make confident decisions. Despite being a novice, I felt positive and self-assured.

Almost immediately I experienced an epiphany! If I could consolidate all note keeping, put it into logical, table formats, in one central, portable system - then I might just help one other mother. As my baby grew the energy and available time to drive forward my “new mother’s tool” all but disappeared.

Enter Rennay Little…
In an attempt to keep moving forward with her idea, Carolynne seized the opportunity to give me a unique ‘preparing for hospital’ gift when I had my first child. It was a crude mock-up of her “new mother’s tool”. I loved her resource but added additional features and offered enhancement suggestions.

The universes aligned for Carolynne and I; we formed a team. We’ve now shared three exciting years along our business journey to bring you the New Mother’s Journal: A Practical Organiser via our Australian Publisher, Ice Water Press. 

And here we are as Mumentum!
